In 2002, a group of six friends from Afghanistan persuaded a local school in Edgware to let them use their school on a Saturday. They set up a place for local refugee parents and children to learn more about their new home. Paiwand was founded by refugees, for refugees. We build strong connections through shared experiences and mutual support. Each year we help hundreds of people access housing, education, and emotional support. Every story represents a life changed for the better. When Amina arrived in London, she felt lost and uncertain. Through Paiwand’s Community Advocacy team, she found help with housing and emotional support. Today she volunteers to help others. Her journey reminds us what community and compassion can achieve. We provide free and confidential advice for refugees and migrants who need help with housing, welfare, or employment. Our team listens, supports, and stands by every client to make sure their rights are respected.
