HARAKAT-AICFO is an Afghan-led, non-profit organization working to improve the ease of doing business in Afghanistan by addressing key barriers and fostering a thriving investment environment. In 2008, HARAKAT was founded with funding of 30£ million from DFID to deliver the Afghanistan Investment Climate Facility (AICF) program. The goal of HARAKAT-AICF was to remove and reduce regulatory and institutional barriers to doing business in Afghanistan. keeping in mind the overarching objectives of the AICF, the HARAKAT t program had been divided into four pillars: Advocacy for the Building Increasing role of private sector in economic development The private sector has always been vital to Afghanistan’s economy, contributing to economic growth and job opportunities.
